In the picture phant

In the picture phant
I took my inspiration from the Asian elephant, since it's the reason behind this project. In many Asian countries, the colours red-black-gold symbolise good fortune. I worked with paint as well as gold leaf. Written on the elephant's brow is the Kanji symbol for "good luck" or "happiness". The elephant is called the "in the picture-phant". Each flank of the elephant has a painting of a girl posing so that viewers can take her picture. In this way, not only are the girls put "in the picture", but viewer attention is also focused on the Asian elephant, thus achieving the ultimate goal of the project.
