Description
Elephant name: Sanuk
Artist: Nancy Chandler
Parade: Bangkok 2015
Sanuk, created by artist Nancy Chandler, is a joyful celebration of Bangkok’s unique character. For more than four decades, Nancy illustrated the city’s vibrant maps, capturing its bustling markets, glittering temples, lively river scenes, and famously long name. Her hand-painted elephant design translates these beloved details onto a new canvas — the elephant. Sanuk embodies the Thai word for “fun” and radiates colour, playfulness, and cultural storytelling. A meaningful piece of elephant decoration that combines travel, art, and heritage in a way only Elephant Parade can.
Note: Each piece is hand-painted in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and may vary slightly in appearance.
