From 26 March, Elephant Parade will return to London with a spectacular herd of colourful elephants at one of the city’s most iconic destinations: Battersea Power Station. The Battersea Elephant Parade will transform the vibrant riverside neighbourhood into an inspiring open-air art exhibition, inviting visitors to discover a collection of beautifully decorated elephant sculptures displayed across the historic site.
Twenty-one life-sized elephant statues, each uniquely designed by talented artists and designers, will form a playful art parade through the Power Station and surrounding public spaces. Visitors will be able to follow the parade, explore the creative stories behind each sculpture and experience Battersea Power Station in a completely new way. The parade will be on display for the public until 26 April.
As Sam Cotton, Interim CEO at Battersea Power Station Development Company, explains: "The event is designed to create a vibrant experience for visitors while supporting an important cause. Guests will be able to explore the colourful elephants, enjoy family-friendly activities such as mini rides, creative workshops, markets and pop-ups, and discover the wide range of shops, restaurants and leisure experiences across the riverside neighbourhood — making Battersea Power Station an ideal destination to spend time with friends and family during the Easter holidays."
The 21st elephant will be created live during the event. Internationally acclaimed painter and creative visionary Sophie Tea will paint one of the elephant sculptures live at Battersea Power Station on 28 March, giving visitors the chance to watch the artwork come to life and experience the creative process up close.
Like all Elephant Parades, the Battersea Elephant Parade will have an important purpose. The exhibition will help raise awareness and funds for elephant conservation, supporting efforts to protect Asian elephants and their natural habitats.
Elephant Parade events transform cities into vibrant open-air galleries. From London and Amsterdam to Bangkok and Dubai, herds of artist-designed elephants appear in streets, parks and iconic locations, creating colourful art parades that invite residents and visitors to explore.
Each elephant is a unique work of art created by international artists, designers and well-known creatives. After the exhibition, many of the sculptures are auctioned or sold to support elephant conservation projects.
Through art, creativity and community engagement, Elephant Parade brings people together while helping to secure a future for elephants in the wild.
