In 2008, Elephant Parade visited Antwerp, starting on 5th September until November 5th. Over 60 baby elephant sized art pieces were shown to the Belgium public before being auctioned off at the Antwerp Zoo. The auction, that was held in November, resulted in over €477,900. Almost twice the amount that was raised in Rotterdam. The showpiece of the auction was ‘Trompe Cousue’, an elephant with an outer layer of lead designed by George de Decker from Belgium. According to art expert Baenarts: “a piece which belongs in a museum.”
